Our Sunday morning visit to Lifechurch.tv went surprising well.
All the ‘normal’ elements that you would get in a ‘normal’ post modern church were there: chat before hand with greeters and other visitors, energetic worship, offering, an incredible message and a final appeal for new believers – so, it was good, yea.
Theologically, I am still wrestling with the whole concept of online church, and how it measures up to the church that Jesus promised. But I must say, I do believe that this type of online service could serve certain circumstances.
I just need more time to digest the entire concept and work out exactly how I feel about it.
My suspicions are thought that online church is growing at an uncomfortable rate for some more traditional believers, and, that we will see more and more people tuning in rather than turning up in the future.
Is this online style church the future?
If so, should we just jump right in now and help develop this concept locally? or, should we condemn anything that eradicates personal human interaction and local corporate style worship?
Love,
Normy.

I know there are plenty of holes in what I'm about to ask and I don't think online church should be the only interaction a person has but…
I wonder if Paul would be sending emails and IMs instead of handwritten letters? That wasn't direct personal interaction yet was extremely effective.
Great point Dan.
Would Paul / Paraklete have wrote differently / more if email were the case, and if so, what?
