Is it any wonder religion is associated bleeding money out of people?
I thought some Christian churches were overstepping their mark promoting ‘Prayer shawls’ and ‘Angel kerings’, but it looks as though Scientologists are just as bad at duping innocent people too – read HERE

Coercing people to give more and more money has always been a pitfall for religion.
Isn’t about time every organisation, institution or group that claims affiliation with Jesus Christ really took heed of their boss’s sanctification instructions?
What would the world look like if only the global Christian Church lead by example?
“If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.” ~ Jesus Christ | Matthew 19:21

Having lived for 8 years in Clearwater, FL where the Scientology headquarters is, I can tell you first hand that it's not really a religion at all. They take God out of the equation and basically say that if you are going to be successful, then it's all up to you. In essence, you are god yourself so it's up to you. It's all about self-help and some of the principles are good (although the methods are somewhat weird) but they don't have anyway of dealing with the sin issue.
The only reason why they have "church" in their name is for tax-shelter reasons. They hold non-profit status that way and the justification is that "hey, we're helping people" so that makes us a church.
Well it doesn't really. So…
So, playing the devils advocate here, is the 'church' of Scientology any different than some of these odorous prosperity TV stars selling Holy paraphernalia?
Have they the same goal end – money

Hilarious stuff!
Scientology is that ridiculous I can't even comment.
