Thank you to everyone who has been commenting and emailing about some of the ‘fun’ topics on bndotnt.
To kick this week off, I have another little discussion topic if you are up for it? Possibly geared for the more spiritual of us bloggers, but maybe not?
..and the topic is: REPENTANCE
With Rob Bell’s new book (Jesus Wants To Save Christians) causing major havoc among certain circles, the whole topic of people truly being ’saved’ or ‘Born-again’ merits some discussion here today.
Personally, I am in the camp that thinks that Repentance is understated in todays’ churches. I often think that the language used today in churches can be too ’seeker sensitive’ for their own good. Modern churches seem keener to ask people to ‘make a commitment’ rather than to ‘earnestly seek Repentance’.
The Master, Jesus, taught that the Kingdom of Heaven is for people when they are poor in spirit, or, simply put, when they release how spiritually bankrupt they are without inheriting the riches of God (Matt 5:3).
If today’s church made their message more Repentance focused, like Jesus (Matt 4:17), rather than ‘asking Jesus into you heart’ during anonymous alter calls, would we see less people fall away from Christ, and ultimately, see less people leave the global church* in their masses?
Think about it.
Love, Normy.

Oh, and here is a video that I showed a few weeks ago on bndotnt. Back through popular demand and it compliments this hot topic.
