Gospel Defense

by normanmccorkell on November 1, 2008

Like most out till late on Street Pastors, I am feeling slightly tired but spiritually vitalised.

A relatively quiet night, and not what we anticipated, but nevertheless successful as far as we were concerned.

Everyone performed extremely well on the team and the leaders were outstanding (credit were credit is due and all that).

One thing I always wrestle with is the whole issue of presenting the gospel out there yet being personable and building relationships. (you ready for this blast?)

My personal view point is that we concentrate on building relationships like the early church did (Acts 2) and leave the saving and convicting AND building of the church to Jesus (Matt 16:18). I guess what triggered this rather dramatic paragraph was my convo with another SP leader who holds the same views today and the fact that I have just accidently opened the inside cover of one of my pre-pwned theology books. Inside this book is a little sticker that gives the following farcical title of a ministry; : “Gospel Defense Ministries”

Do WE really thing it is up to us to defend, save and convict needy people and build Jesus’ church for Him?

Sorry. Just thought I’d throw that one outta my packed thoughts this afternoon.

Go on- Respond!
