Cheating the Church

by normanmccorkell on September 30, 2008

I really enjoyed speaking in Letterkenny at ‘Kingdom Praise Church’. I guess the reason I enjoyed speaking had something to do with the subject; something that has gave me great strength, sustainability and peace for my new season- cheating the church. What? I hear you say. As I explained on Sunday, this is a maximum growth principal to help Jesus grow HIS church:

And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I WILL build MY church, and the gates of Hell will not overcome it.-Matt 16:18

To illustrate the point and circulate the essence of what I was speaking on, here is Andy Stanley’s prayer-deal with God.

Church planting in “45 hours a week”

“God, I don’t have time to build a ministry and take care of my family. I’ll give you 45 hours per week as a church planter. If you can build a church on 45 hours, I’m your guy. I’ll let you build has big a church as you can with that 45 hours, and I’ll be satisfied with that. But I’m not going to cheat my family.”

Take care of YOUR bride and let Jesus take care of His!
